KING

Yes its over six months ago that I fed the white lions at Dreamworld and Ive only just finished a page on it but I have alot of catching up to do!
Kraft cardstock as the canvas, photo matted in Bazzil cardstock. Papers used are Kaiser( Prairie Lane Collection) and a strip from Bo Bunny’s Zoology range. To the left bottom corner of the page is a flourish( Flourish with a bling) along with a metal distressed looking frame. Here is where I have put the title. Just painted chipboard letters in cream and inked in a light brown over the top. Underneath the frame is two journal labels from October Afternoon, where I added a little bit of journaling. Wrapped around the bottom of the page is some thick string, under the photo some vintage lave and a smaller lace piece under the journal. The top right corner has some more lace, paper and a journal label with the date the photo was taken.

Precious Pages

Yes it’s been a long long long time since I’ve been on the blog but I’ve been so busy with work, uni, the new man and basically life in general to try and do a bit of scrapbooking. In that time I had Precious at the panel beaters getting her re painted and all pretty for me, I was away for a two week course in Wollongong for a mollusc course at Uni and one thing after another.
So here’s the first page of Precious after she’s been painted and brought home to me.Started with a piece of white Bazzil, then the photos matted in black. The houndstooth paper is Heidi Swapp with the numbered piece of paper is KI Memories. Towards the right hand side of the page is the most busiest. I have used three ribbons across the page all from back in the day at Blossies. I still have quite a stash! The alphabet I have used is Heidi Swapp hot pink adhesive chipboard, it’s really getting toward the end of those letters, anyone know where i can get more from?! I’ll certainly be using more hot pink with these car pages. Pushed through one of the knots of ribbon is a Bella! pin with a gem on the end. In the bunch of “stuff” on the bottom is A Kaiser felt heart, Spotlight heart and button, black button from the stash, a hot pink felt flower with a rose on the top is covered in Stickles to make it look more sparkly. The black flower and pink sprig is Green Tara and the other hot pink flower I can’t remember! I’m out of the loop now and need to get back to it! At the top of the page is another rose with stickles and the tag is a Bella Blvd sticker. It is attached to the page with hot pink brads.

The second page created today was a few photos of when I was away in Wollongong studying, it was quite hard to be away when i knew my baby would be getting done and i couldn’t come visit like i did before. These are photos my sister and the panel beater sent to me while I was gone, there of course was more but they wanted to try keep it a secret until i got back. I used a piece of lace i bought from Spotlight and a ribbon back from Blossies. The alphabet is Pink Paislee (small letters) and Bella! for the larger ones. A few buttons next to it to just keep the page simple and focus on the few photos.

As I have many many photos of the car as she was getting done it was hard to choose photos to use and with the amount to get them all scrapbooked as part of the whole story. So instead I’m using up some pages from We R Memory Makers they have slots in them for photos so I’ve cut up mine and fitted quite alot into it, and because they aren’t the most glamorous photos but show the progression of her it was a great way of displaying the photos. Of course i haven’t finished these; still have to journal and add some bits and pieces to them.

I will be back on here soon!

Really Late

So I havent been on here in months!! Been so busy with work and life its hard to have spare time anymore. Since my last post on here heaps has happened

The shoe shop closed down and I got a job at Autobarn, wasnt there very long and they asked me to change positions and work as a Receivals chick out the back, as I dont like being on the till very much it seemed alright. Ive been there a while now, doing all the invoicing, credit claims, warrantys of  faulty items, chasing suppliers for stock and money, really enjoy it as it keeps me busy and I dont have to put up with customers anymore! haha
With UNI, this semester I deffered until next year just to have a break and work on stuff in my life. Last semester I passed all units and just waiting for next semester to start and get back into it and finish my degree to go travelling.
Recently I have just been accepted into a Mullusc Biology course at the University of Woolongong in NSW, I had waited months to know if I had a chance or not and last week received the email telling me I was in!! Really excited for it!! Its two weeks in December for a summer semester course, a third year unit with 8 credit points so a good one to get into for sure!! So Im off to Woolongong very soon.
Now the torana; coming up to nearly 5years Ive had my baby and never getting close to finishing her, well I just got a personal loan so I can get her proffesionally painted and then put back together so I can finally get to drive her! Working at Autobarn is certainly helping with getting all the car stuff I need.
As for scrapbooking Ive barely had time to do any and still trying to get pages done from a few months ago, those photos are of my lion experience at Dreamworld feeding white lions, really amazing to see them up close even though we were between wire. Everytime I do anything with animals it gives me  little boost on finishing my degree and working with animals.
I have also finished my saltwater tank aquarium, taken me all year but about a month ago I was able to add in my little shark, hes a Port Jackson, very cute and I named him Jaws; haha

Plenty more has happened but dont want to keep going, have to now get up and get ready for work
Enjoy your day!

What Ive been up to;

Well apart from trying to catch up on uni work Ive also been organising my craft cupboard which is also under my bed and going into the hall and craft room! Im going to get a craft shed very soon so I can properly work and scrapbook in my spare time. ( What spare time?!)

Ive collected pink and orange shoe boxes from work which are all great sizes to organise everything into. Also pink and other baskets, on each box/basket will be a label. For the labels I have used some Bella! alphabet stamps and a spotted butterfly, sewn two buttons, used a piece of hot pink spotted ribbon and matted in an orange cardstock. Alot of work but they look so cute!

Heres some photos, will post more and close ups of the little labels too:

I have too many hobbies! This is also what Ive been working on, its been about a month or so since I first started my salt water tank and yesterday I bought an orange clown fish and last week had my first little damsel fish.

This weekend Im going on a party bus to the Gold Coast for a friends birthday, lost my job but now starting tomorrow at Stafford; giving it a go see how that goes!
And next week Im going to see Good Charlotte and Short Stack!!!!! Ive come to love Short Stack the past few months and so excited to get into mosh pit and see them perfome live! Oh yeah!

Holidays in a few weeks too but again travelling to Armidale for UNI, then its my birthday; Im so behind havent even scrapbooked last years, ahhhhh!

Busy busy busy

My Uni break is coming closer to the end and Ive barely done any scrapbooking :(
Most of the time Ive been working, hanging with friends or just vegging out at home watching movies and chilling in the pool. Thank goodness the rain has finally stopped!

A few weeks ago I helped on a weekend down in Brisbane clearing up after the floods. Dad, my brother and I were in Yeronga cleaning up the streets and peoples homes and belongings- it was just a few streets compared to the whole amount of Brisbane going under. Bloody hard work for the day but was great to get in there and help out.

Since then Ive donated bags of Avon products I had here to go out to the Esk region and Lockyer Valley, hope ladies out there can use some of it as its sitting here doing nothing- Mum went through the spare room and gave kitchen bits and her work gave heaps of boxes of glasses. Mums also been doing fundraising through a lady Julie Cox who is making yummmyyy cupcakes and then giving the money straight to the flood victims, already raised $1000 and hopes to make another $1000

And today I managed to do a page; really do need to get into scrapbooking more but also need the inspiration. Maybe some new excting photos to play with. Heres the page:

KS CJ
  • Bazzil Cardstock and photo matted in Bazzil Bling Cardstock

  • Green Tara and Doodlebug flowers

Neglected

Yep I did neglect the blog for a little while, Christmas and New Years ended up being really busy!

Anywhoo heres a scrapbooking page I made for my  best friend for Christmas, there is a little glare because of the frame.
Heres a Christmas Card I made for someone amazing that Ive just recently started spending alot more time with, which makes me sooooo happy!

I cut three circles of fabric to make the suffolk puffs, each one has a button sewn into the middle of it. Then the three puffs glued onto the card. The backing piece is Kraft Cardstock with distressed edges. A chipboard flourish inked in light brown is at the bottom of the puffy things. The scalloped die-cut came from a Making Memories- Paperie Notepad- I'm amazed as to how much of that I still have left! Around the green die-cut is thin string wrapped randomly around it before I stuck that to the card. To finish the card off I tied a piece of lime green spotted ribbon into a bow around the whole card.

Close up;
My new boss at the shoe shop also does great cooking. For Christmas I recieved a basket of hand-baked goodies. The Lemon Merignue pies were amazing!

A few weeks back we had a Secret Santa at Annettes house for Christmas, this was my little gift; Scrapbooking products! Cant wait to use them!
