Seashell heart

In the shops I saw a heart with seashells on it and wanted to create my own.
I made my own wire heart and had dad weld it together so it will never break at the joins.
I gathered shells and drilled holes in many many of them and thread onto fishing line then wrapped it around the heart. Have shells from all over NSW and QLD beaches including some to remind us of nan and pop
It's quite heavy and the thickness of shells looks just awesome!!!

Exciting news!

Life has been very busy!

In the last few months since being on here, heaps has happened. I quit my job at Autobarn and got a job working at Alma Park Zoo, while it being in the cafe Im about to start volunteering and working with animals to get some experience to go with my degree. Im now half way through my degree and still working on getting it done.

Precious is getting near complete, more is happening this week on her, all the doors are complete and  by the end of the week all of the interior should be done and next week have the glass fitted. More photos of her too to come soon .

I watched my little sister graduate from the Navy. It was one of my proudest moments after not seeing her for months and then to be all grown up and now a sailor for the Australian Defence Force! So proud. My man has also put in his application to re apply for the Army Reserves and my brother wants to also join the Army when finished school.

Last week I made some frames. Bought some cheap frames from the Salvos and painted them myself, distressed and covered in shells and ribbons.

And heres my collection growing of collectable sea-shells

KING

Yes its over six months ago that I fed the white lions at Dreamworld and Ive only just finished a page on it but I have alot of catching up to do!
Kraft cardstock as the canvas, photo matted in Bazzil cardstock. Papers used are Kaiser( Prairie Lane Collection) and a strip from Bo Bunny’s Zoology range. To the left bottom corner of the page is a flourish( Flourish with a bling) along with a metal distressed looking frame. Here is where I have put the title. Just painted chipboard letters in cream and inked in a light brown over the top. Underneath the frame is two journal labels from October Afternoon, where I added a little bit of journaling. Wrapped around the bottom of the page is some thick string, under the photo some vintage lave and a smaller lace piece under the journal. The top right corner has some more lace, paper and a journal label with the date the photo was taken.

Precious Pages

Yes it’s been a long long long time since I’ve been on the blog but I’ve been so busy with work, uni, the new man and basically life in general to try and do a bit of scrapbooking. In that time I had Precious at the panel beaters getting her re painted and all pretty for me, I was away for a two week course in Wollongong for a mollusc course at Uni and one thing after another.
So here’s the first page of Precious after she’s been painted and brought home to me.Started with a piece of white Bazzil, then the photos matted in black. The houndstooth paper is Heidi Swapp with the numbered piece of paper is KI Memories. Towards the right hand side of the page is the most busiest. I have used three ribbons across the page all from back in the day at Blossies. I still have quite a stash! The alphabet I have used is Heidi Swapp hot pink adhesive chipboard, it’s really getting toward the end of those letters, anyone know where i can get more from?! I’ll certainly be using more hot pink with these car pages. Pushed through one of the knots of ribbon is a Bella! pin with a gem on the end. In the bunch of “stuff” on the bottom is A Kaiser felt heart, Spotlight heart and button, black button from the stash, a hot pink felt flower with a rose on the top is covered in Stickles to make it look more sparkly. The black flower and pink sprig is Green Tara and the other hot pink flower I can’t remember! I’m out of the loop now and need to get back to it! At the top of the page is another rose with stickles and the tag is a Bella Blvd sticker. It is attached to the page with hot pink brads.

The second page created today was a few photos of when I was away in Wollongong studying, it was quite hard to be away when i knew my baby would be getting done and i couldn’t come visit like i did before. These are photos my sister and the panel beater sent to me while I was gone, there of course was more but they wanted to try keep it a secret until i got back. I used a piece of lace i bought from Spotlight and a ribbon back from Blossies. The alphabet is Pink Paislee (small letters) and Bella! for the larger ones. A few buttons next to it to just keep the page simple and focus on the few photos.

Here’s a close up:

As I have many many photos of the car as she was getting done it was hard to choose photos to use and with the amount to get them all scrapbooked as part of the whole story. So instead I’m using up some pages from We R Memory Makers they have slots in them for photos so I’ve cut up mine and fitted quite alot into it, and because they aren’t the most glamorous photos but show the progression of her it was a great way of displaying the photos. Of course i haven’t finished these; still have to journal and add some bits and pieces to them.

I will be back on here soon!
