Shabby Frames

Ive blogged the individual artist cards before but I dont think I have blogged the final product of these shabby art pieces I created for art last year at school.
Some are all hanging in the craft room now, I wasnt allowed to have all of the pieces on display so more are in the ceiling :( The photos arent the best as I couldnt fit along the door across from the wall to get all the artworks in the picture.
Here they are

Old is New Again

While working at Blossies the other day, organising the shop and shuffling some of the papers I noticed that some of the older ranges that are really nice are still available. I thought I’d do a blog post on layouts I’ve created and the papers and some embellishments etc are still available
This one is about a month old; Basic Grey, Max and Whiskers
The layout is called Billy, very simple with two pieces of paper, doily, buttons etc. A strip from the sticker sheet also used. You can keep up with how Billy is on Yvette's Blog here

Around February last year We R Memory Keepers brought out Heart Attack
I havent done a page yet with these but have a few ideas in mind, they will be on the blog shortly. But here is an example of the pages to trig your memory

I have created an off-the page album using quite a few of these papers also; Sports Day (I have done a blog post on this before look here to find close ups)

Last year I also created a Valentines Day Card, here it is

Bella! has had quite a few paper ranges that we’ve had come and go but one of the original ranges is the pink Damsel papers
It isn’t one thing, its a million little things: This one is quite simple with a photo and a few pieces of paper, I have cut out the flowers from the same range

Websters pages- A sweet life
I bought the six different calendar pages. All of them are sort of vintage looking, havent used them yet but I will eventually.Heres an example of what the pages look like.

Another Basic Grey range still in stock is Lemonade. I have done a page using these papers but cant seem to find where it is, so heres some of the papers instead.

For some very pretty papers use Imaginisce; Lucy Bird. Dream Big: This one I have cut out heaps of flowers, all pages have glitter on them and are just gorgeous. This layout was inspired by Sam Houzer, look at her pages with this range here. Also for my formal album I created this page using more of the same paper on a layout called Great Day. Looking through my pages I have found another one called Live.Laugh.Love. I love the way Gail has also used this range to create a page of Amelia found here

I have also used some of the paper to cover a tin that is on my UNI work desk. Add some ribbon, glitter covered letters and flowers and you have a pretty tin for stationary

My Minds Eye has great papers with a great feel to them, the Love Me Do range with bright yellow, red and blues are great to do exciting pages with and are so versatile.
Here is a page I recently created with photos of my tropical reef dive back in April and the blues matched my scheme. The other side is the clouds which I had originally bought the paper for, just goes to show looking at the undersides of papers can be fun! *this one will be blogged shortly with close ups

I found a couple of Heidi Swapp papers also with a few of these ones left. Using the whole pattern as the backing piece I created Beautiful. ( The butterflies are also Heidi Swapp but I’m not sure where you will find them now)

Well Im back at Uni now so the blog wont be updated as much as Id like to but I hope to keep it somewhat regular.

Yummy

This isn’t something I usually blog about but I just had to. In the Kaisercraft Magazine Q1 (pg 83), I read a recipe for some chocolate cookies and they seemed so nice I made some;

So here’s the recipe; Carols Cookies
125g butter
200g dark chocolate
3 eggs lightly beaten
1cup brown sugar
1 ½ cups plain flour
½ cup cocoa
250g white choc bits

Preheat the oven to 200C and line trays with baking paper
Place butter and dark chocolate in a small pan and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted and is smooth (I melted it in the microwave and it worked just fine)
Place this into a bowl and add the beaten eggs and sugar, stir to combine. Sift in the dry ingredients and white choc bits, stir until well combined.
Drop spoonfuls of mix onto trays (I was able to gently form a ball with mine)
Bake for 10mins, stand cookies on tray for 2-3mins and then move to a wire rack.
Yummy
*this makes about 50 cookies and beware of the killer amount of chocolate used!

While also going through the other Kaisercraft Magazine Q2 I found another recipe I wanted to try (page 91)

Mint Slice (very easy and very yummy)
250g Malt-O-Milk biscuits
6 Peppermint Crisp chocolate bars
½ 395g tin sweetened condensed milk
125g butter
250g Cadbury chocolate

Crush biscuits up in a food processer (or a zip-lock bag and a hammer), also crush the peppermint crisps bars. Keep a few bigger chunks of the chocolate in the mixture to ensure that when cut up most slices have a few green chunks
Place both biscuit and chocolate into a bowl
Combine condensed milk and butter in a saucepan on low (once again I used the microwave it’s just so much quicker). When melted mix into the biscuit and chocolate mixture
Spread into a slice pan and flatten out the mixture with a spoon. Once set melt the chocolate and pour over the slice. Return to the fridge to set.
* I used mint chocolate for the top if mine which has the mint crisps in it really makes it extra minty

Pizza and Pyjama Marathon Crop

Last night was Blossies Pizza and Pyjama Marathon crop, a crop going for a massive twelve hours! haha
Well anywhoo the Blossies girls got scrapping, here are the layouts I came up with at the crop:

Billy; using the new Max and Whiskers from Basic Grey, an orange doily, Pink Paislee letters, ribbon, button, brads and some felt flowers

Vanuatu; I have used the last scrap of Bella! paper for this one with some cardstock, doily, flower, button, Rose Moka letters, string, My Minds Eye die-cut and ribbon

***These two pages are on the back wall of Blossies if you wish to look at the real thing

In trying to do more of my cruise photos here are more layouts created last night.

Beautiful Lifou; Bazzil embossed leaves cardstock, Making Memories; Paperie notepad paper, Pink Paislee letters, EK Success letters, scallop punches, paper, Kaiser brad, ribbon and a piece of Creative Imaginations paper

Lemon Bay, Numea; Using some older Bella! die-cuts (you could use any of the same range to create a page like this), Thicker letters, vintage trim/ribbon, Kraft Cardstock, Bazzil Cardstock, Basic Grey letters, button and a paper flower
This one I added a few things to finish it off,

Nap Time; Kraft Cardstock, Bazzil Cardstock, ribbon, paper flower, Thicker letters, button and some stamping. ** This page is actually 12'' by 7''.
